Year 3 had an amazing time celebrating Roald Dahl day.

Today marked the end of our ‘Strictly Bake Off’ unit. We welcomed Martin back in from The Lovely Little Café to sample and Judge our class cakes. Each child also wrote a persuasive speech to go alongside their class cake, trying to convince Martin that their cake should win. A few children were then selected to deliver their speeches with the unveiling of the cakes.

Martin has now taken the cakes to The Lovely Little Café, where you will be able to support your child’s class and buy a slice tomorrow – Saturday 8th December. The Café will be open 8am – 2.30pm. All proceeds from the sale of the cakes will go to charity. Do not worry if you are unable to buy a slice, the children have all tried the cake in class today and apparently it was a hit!

Our new topic 'Strictly Bake Off' started this morning, with a competition between the teachers to create a cake for the Lovely Little Cafe in Dibden Purlieu.  Cheered on by all of Year 3, the teachers did and amazing job creating colourful and delicious cakes.  However the cakes were just not healthy enough and would definitely give you sugar rush!   The task has been set by the Lovely Little Cafe to create a delicious and healthy cake that will be sold in the Cafe at the end of our topic.  The children are all very excited and the teachers are feeling competitive!

Year 3 are nearing the end of our Yabba Dabba Doo project. We have had lots of fun and learnt a lot too!

We spun straw to make bracelets and bookmarks.

We learnt about the rock cycle.  We made chocolate rocks and were even allowed to eat them! 

We built our own Stone Age houses with limited resources.  We needed to be quick as a storm was coming!
